The Fujinon Techno-Stabi feature multicoated optics with phase corrected prisms, an internal stabilisation device provides a clear image even when used in non-standard conditions.
The Fujinon Techno-Stabi stabisation device compensates for natural muscle tremor as well as more severe vibrations such as those caused by water going vessels, aircraft (both fixed and rotary wing) and land vehicles. The Tecno-Stabi is fully waterproof, is supplied with a floatation strap and has a 1 year manufacturers warranty. Requires 4xAA batteries. eebc - Jamie. 27/05/2007 11:48:50 | The Fujinon Techno-stabi is an excellent piece of kit, good optics and very good stabilisation systems. It also seems very robust, which could explain why many of our customers for this product are in industry.
We no longer sell the Canon image stabilised binoculars, so it would be wrong to comment on them, except to say that we have never had any Canon (or Fujinon) binoculars returned to us. |

eebc - Chris. 30/06/2008 16:49:54 | The lastest version of the Fujinon Techno-Stabi comes with a carry case instead of the transportation box shown in the "box photo" link above. (I have taken a new photo, I will try to update the image in the next couple of days).
We do not stock range finders, but Bushnell manufacture a number of them that we can order. Delivery is normally about three days. Prices range from about £200 to about £600 |
Barrie 13/06/2010 17:30:27 | I own a pair of these binoculars and I can highly recommend them to any person thinking of buying them. In my opinion they are better than the canon 15x50 stabilised model and they are waterproof. They are very well regarded in the USA and are used by their military and by NASA on the space shuttle, I will not bore you with all the specification stuff, I will leave that up to the people at the shop to do that, but I think they are superb, thanks for reading |

We agree, the optics in these Fujinon binoculars are excellent and the stabilisation works really well. We have never had to have a pair repaired, so they must be well made, particularly as we know some of the environments they are being used in! |
Kevin 03/01/2011 20:57:09 | I can t seem to find any reference anywhere regarding the suitability of these for star gazing. Are they suitable for astronomy or are they intended for daytime use only? My research indicates that the term used to describe the percentage of light that is NOT lost through the optical system is transmittance and I understand that ideally this figure should be above 90%. Do you have a figure for the Fujiinon 14X40s? Can you please also advise what the twilight factor for these binoculars is? Thank you for taking the time to read this.

eebc - Jamie 04/01/2011 12:13:59 | These binoculars are designed to be used in environments where stability is needed, on ships or in helicopters. The stabilisation is also very useful for removing any handshake, which high magnification binoculars tend to suffer from.
They would not be ideal for astronomy as they only have a 40mm objective lens. Binoculars for astronomy tend to fall into two categories, a lot of people use a pair of 10x50, whilst others go for as bigger objective lens as possible, such as the Opticron 11x80 or Optical Hardware 20x80. Fujinon do not list the tramsmittance of this product in their specifications (I do not know any manufacturer that does). The twilight factor, used to compare like-for-like magnifications, is 23.6 |

John 06/07/2011 11:48:40 | I have a pair of these binoculars and, so far, I have been very impressed. However, I was surprised that they were not supplied with a cover or caps for the front objective lenses. Has anyone found a suitable solution for this ? |
eebc - Jamie 06/07/2011 14:00:06 | Many top end binoculars do not come with objective lens covers, whereas the lower prices ones tend to come with a full set - no idea why!
We do not have any lens caps that will fit. I will keep an eye out for something, but off the top of my head, I can not think of any anyone who makes something suitable. |

I am not sure if they repair Fujinon products in-house or have to return them to the european distributor, but they are the people to contact. |
Jack Brown 27/08/2012 10:11:41 | I owned these for 10 years (used for sailing) they were very good but they developed a fault and proved irrepairable by peyser so life expectancy 10 years ? However they ate batteries, can the later models be recharged? |
eebc - Chris 29/08/2012 09:10:38 | The instruction booklet simply states 3 hours use with ordinary alkaline batteries and does not mention rechargeable batteries, so I would guess not.
The binoculars can be powered by external power, see Voltage Regulator and Power Adaptor listed as accessories above. |

We should be able to order them. Last time we ordered a battery compartment, it had to be specially ordered from Europe and took 3-4 weeks. As a rough guide, the price last time we ordered one (which was several years ago) was about £pound;150. I will give the importers a ring and get the current price and delivery time.
